why does loving hayao miyazaki mean HATE DISNEY>?! is it some unwritten code somewhere ins tone, that in order to appreciate ghibli studios you HAVE loathe each and every thing disney does?!!! k so get this, i DON'T hate miyazaki films. i like them, and i recommend anyone who loves anime- no, loves FILM, to WATCH ghibli animation. it's great stuff!!

but that's no reason to say disney is crap! christ, there was this one chick in my asian arts history that did her power point presentation on hayao miyazaki. and all that report was FAN WORSHIP. she goes on 'n on about, how when they made princess mononoke, they actually brought in real wolves so the animators can see what an animal looks like, and walks like. so that they can REALLY animate a WOLF. that the japanese REALLY pay attention to detail!! and not only do they watch animals, the SCULPT ALL of their characters and props so that they can get a good 3D look at what they're animating. ((she talked as if this was a breakthrough in animation, as if NO OTHER STUDIO EVER THOUGHT OF THIS.)

oh what, disney never brought in animals to observe?!! so i guess all that shit about bringing in deer for bambi and lions for the lion king was utter crap? and what, all those statues of mr. incredible and beast when they animated the incredibles and beauty and the beast? what, were they made just for show then they tossed them so they could animate in peace?

i'm not saying ghibli is better than disney, and i'm NOT saying disney is better than ghibli, because that's like comparing marvel and DC. they're both great, and there is no reason to hate one or the other. unless walt disney or stan lee molested you when you were 6.

but if you like ghibli animation better than disney, then say so. but don't think disney is run by a bunch of drunken retards. same goes for saying disney is the best, cause there's been tons of great animated classics made by people other than disney. for instance MGM's animated features are nothing short of great.

btw, disney finally fired mike eisner while ago, so yayyyyyyyyyyy!! rejoice and be glad.
