ever read the Sandman? well, then you should know Dream's older sister Death. she's a real nice lady. it's cool how she's compassionate about humans (or whatever's dying)
well, if you don't know Death, then too bad. it's a real good series, you're missing out!! (VERY philosophical) Death acts like a regular girl, and dresses normal (unless you count all black as not normal) i'm going to draw the youngest sister, Delirium, and maybe the he/she Desire.
i'd NEVER draw Despair. she's too friggin' ugly. Dream, maybe. Destruction, he's too hard to draw. and Destiny's boring.
anyways, yeah. she doesn't like carrying a scythe around, so i added some speed holes to make it light and giving it higher velocity, lol.
well, you can find Sandman usually anywhere by the graphic novels (aka comics, lol) but, be warned. there ARE aduly themes. but if you're into why you're here in life, or why people lust, or why sometimes when you stare into the mirror, you can feel Despair's hook snag you're eart and drag you into sorrow.... well, it's a really good series. varied artists and everything.
this one time, a baby dies and when death picks him up, he says, "what? that's it? this is all i get?"
and death smiles and goes, "Yep. sorry little guy. maybe you'll get luckier next time." and the story mainly focuses on a suicide and what's the piont behind a suicide.
oh, and i love Desire's saying: "EVERY story is the same. Somebody WANTED something." it kind of shows you how powerful Desire is.
oops, i'm rambling!! anyways, yeah, any bookstore or comic boiok store should do it. barnes & nobles or walden's would have it. (are those stores nation wide? O_o )
This picture is "peachy Keen!"... or something to that liking. Anyhow, I love this picture and it is a pretty stylistic version one of comics coolest characters. "The High Cost of Living" was probably one of the best comics I have read, but unfortunately I haven't gotten to read much of the core Sandman series.
n_n i TOTALLY agree with you!! Death is a pretty cool lady. you should read the "Endless Nights' stuff. beautiful, yet haunting artowrk in there. Desire's story in that book is actually my favorite, heh heh. but i like that one story where Death is meeting that lady made of the elements... oops, sorry!! i'm trailing off!!
thanks for liking it so much, and comenting on the series!! more people should read it!!
