"interesting shall suffice here."

i dunno if it matters to anyone, but i always preferred star trek over star wars. i think quite simply the reason was since my dad was an super trekkie at my age (he could even speak klingon!!) we just had alot of video tapes of favorite star trek episodes and movies. so while i was never into the star wars scene, i was pretty good at keeping up and enjoying star trek. and most trekkies and jedies hate each other. and with good excuse; stars trek is incredibly awesome and it is quite illogical to find anything superior to it. hoooooooo.

but really, when i first saw the star wars trailer, i was excited but tried not to be. i was afraid they were going to shit all over the story and instead just put up impressive CG effects. like with most remakes. but i have to admit, it was pulled in good. very good. i mean, i was rapt with giddiness the whole way through. christ i was such a nerd, i was literally on the edge of my seat at all times!

now i think its cause i'm a star trek fan that i enjoyed it this much, but my friends who weren't though it was bad ass too. so hopefully this can bring in a new generation of star trek fans. n_n

the casting was great. chekov was so cute!! as was sulu. and bones. and spock, oh god, was spock adorable. i'm so lame. ahura's actress was pretty good, but i don't think she's as beautiful as the original ahura. thats just me, though. when spock finally landed a vulcan neck pinch i was tickled pink. more than i should ahve been. in fact, i wasn't that big of a spock fan till now. i can only imagine how this spock will freak at the sight of tribbles. THEY'RE ILLOGICALLLLLL.

i certainly didn't expect the movie to blow me away but it did. oh did it ever. and i still believe that if logical spock and the instinctual kirk mated and had a baby, itd be jean-luc picard.
