i can't say it went as expected, but the turnout was better than i could have ever asked for. day one was just a surprise!! we expected to sell alot of one print but we backed the wrong horse, and another print took the lead since day one so that was pretty funny.
i could go on and on about how amazing it feels to be sitting behind hte booth, drawing stuff for people on the spot and hearing them thank me and say it looks good. i mean, the whole time i was drawing commissions at the table my mind kept thinking, 'omg, what if they hate it? what if i mess up? what if they're jsut being polite?!' so DAMN ...how did i EVER get anything done? my self confidence was at an all time low lol.
on day one i wasn't at the booth too much, we ran out of prints (we didn't print alot) so i had to run back to the hotel to make more prints and when i say 'run' back to the hotel i literally had to sometimes cause the buses were too packed and if you attended AX and know where the Westin Bonaventure is from the Convention Hall you KNOW that is somewhat of a distance to run lol.
if you cruised by on day 2, i was robin for half of the day cause
on day 3 the booth was just as busy, only i was there more of the time so i was able to crank out more commissions and sing stuff. holy crap, every time someone asked me to sign something i could've just died right then and there, lol i'm so lame.
in fact, it was only on like the last hour of day 4 that i was actually able to walk the convention hall. i didn't buy much, just a giant monster hunter illustration book cause by that time ALL of the manga i wanted was sold out! ><;; but thats cool, the rest of what i earned from the table can go right back into my withered bank account lol.
damn this journal is boring. i can't really describe what AX 09 was for me. it was certainly different, actually leading a table instead of being a help. i missed out on the sketch jam and mixer, that was a serious blow. ><;; oh well. i wasn't exactly serious filling out that AA survey/questionnaire so i hope that isn't too problematic lol.
the people sitting next to us were SO friendly! n_n i'm so happy with the table placement, cause i was so afraid of sitting next to a group of douchebags. we met
damn. my mind isn't exactly thinking straight yet. wish i could make AX sound as awesome as it was but i know i'm failing right now lol. oh, almost literally bumped into crispin freeman on my way out of AX with all my AA stuff in my hands nearly screeched and fumbled like a retard. seriously, it took all i had to not blurt out 'OMGYOUARECRISPINFREEMANSAYSOEMTHINGSEXYNOWKTHANKSBAI' cause i still got a thing for voice actors, lol.
oh and thanks
but all in all, awesome con. i seriously just want to go con hopping and have a booth at each and every one. i may miss out on all the shows and panels and masquerades and contests... but nothing beats knowing that people liked our art enough to dish out cash for it nad like... wanted us to sign it and everything. ITS CRAZY!!! damn, i'm such a geek, i'm still tripping about that, lol... anyways, i'll post pics up here soon with some con stuff. there might be a pic as robin in there, who knows. =O
